This gentle trail, with only 20 meters of elevation gain, takes around 2 - 3 hours to complete, making it a perfect choice for families, casual hikers, or anyone looking to escape into nature.

Nature just outside the city

The trail begins along the Bosbaan, a rowing course renowned for international competitions and local training. Surrounded by serene forest, this area lies 6.5 meters below sea level, offering unique views of a landscape deeply influenced by Dutch water management.

 

Halfway along the route, the Boerderij Meerzicht pancake house provides a welcoming rest spot. Families will appreciate its playground and petting zoo, making it an excellent midpoint break. From there, the hike continues through the Polder Meerzicht and Oeverlanden, where marshlands and vibrant birdlife bring the area’s biodiversity to life.
